Yamaha has decided to join the carbon-fibre bandwagon. The brand has unveiled the R15M Carbon Edition at the ongoing 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. From the pictures, it is clear that this new R15M looks stunning. The Japanese brand has used a faux carbon-fibre finish all over the motorcycle. The entire front fairing gets the carbon-fibre treatment and over that, a gloss finish is done. Even the tail section of the R15M is dipped in this treatment. Interestingly, the Japanese brand also decided to give the seats a special look. It gets a rough texture – done to replicate the carbon-fibre finish. Yamaha R15 M BS7 ABS CARBON FIBRE – Engine Performance & Key Features: The Yamaha R15 M BS7 ABS is an aggressively designed dedicated sports motorcycle, manufactured by Yamaha Motor India. It is equipped with a 155cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 4-valve SOHC engine. This electronically fuel-injected engine is ignited by a Transistor Controlled Ignition (TCI) system and features VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) with an Assist & Slipper clutch system. The transmission is a 6-speed gear transmission in a pattern of 1-N-2-3-4-5-6, and the starting method is electric start only. Regarding power and performance, the Yamaha R15 M BS7 ABS engine has been optimized to meet BS7 emission requirements, resulting in smoother engine performance, quicker acceleration, and efficiency in both power output and fuel economy. It is now capable of producing a maximum power of 18.4PS at 10,000RPM and a torque of 14.2Nm at 7,500RPM. Consequently, the motorcycle can achieve a top speed exceeding 130kmph and also can maintain a decent fuel economy of around 40kmpl under standard riding and environmental conditions. However, the motorcycle also features an integrated traction control system and has a quick shifter in up-shift mode only. Additionally, the new version of the R15 V4 offers two different riding modes, track mode & street mode, which can be controlled with the dedicated toggle switch mounted on the handlebar. These added features in the new Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 BS7 not only allow a rider a safer ride in various surface conditions but also offer a thrilling riding experience on highway rides.
